Introduction
Welcome to my Hanoi Rocks Archive website.
My name is Sean,I've been a fan and collector of Hanoi Rocks since 1982.
Between 1982 - 1984 I was fortunate enough to see every London gig the band played and at many other venues around the U.K.
Since 2002 I'd enjoyed seeing them on many occasions too,but nothing will ever surpass watching the classic line-up with Nasty Suicide,Sami Yaffa and Razzle in the band.Razzle with his top hat on singing "Blitzkrieg Bop" will live on in my memory forever!
The website was created to display my Hanoi Rocks collection as well as set up CD-R & DVD-R trades.I've been trading Hanoi Rocks for 43 years and have built up a reputation for honesty and reliability among my fellow traders.
The majority of my recordings from the 1980's are from the original copy or 1st generation copies, which is especially important for quality,it means you are not getting copies that are generations down the line where the sound has degenerated with time.I acquired my copies at the time and have transferred them to CD myself,no lossy MP3 recordings here.
MP3 sourced recordings are fine for your own listening but not suitable for trading, they contaminate the trading pool!
I am able to offer the VERY best possible quality around.
The website has also given me several opportunities, these include contributing to the author Ari Väntänen's superb books,"Michael Monroe" and "Razzle The Story of the Hanoi Rocks Legend".As well as providing archive video footage for the Michael Monroe 2023 Finnish documentary.
Now for the boring bit,the RULES.Please read them carefully.
I prefer doing online trades nowdays.I'll send all files in lossless FLAC files.I'm not interested in receiving lossy MP3 files, lossless files only.
DVD's I will trade through the post due to the high amount of errors I've encountered with files sent online with them.
If you're not able to do online trades I will do trades through the mail.
Only use brand name discs,no generic cheap brands,no Maxell please and no double layer DVD discs .If you send poor quality discs I'll ask for the discs to be burned again on top quality discs!
Please burn at the slowest possible speed and check the discs before sending.I burn DVD's at max x4.0,CD's at max x8.0 and verify each disc to check for any errors that may have occured during the burning. If you send discs that freeze up I'll ask for them to be replaced!
I'm not interested in VCD's or DVD's that have been sourced from VCD,AVI, or DivX.
Please give some sort of quality rating for each show.I know that people's opinions of quality can vary, but a rating gives me an idea of what to expect.
If you make contact with me and we haven't traded before you must send discs or files first.
Some of the DVD's are on PAL format, others are NTSC,I'm able to play both formats on my DVD player so I'm happy to accept either. Some people in North America don't seem to be able to play DVD's in PAL.If you think this maybe a problem for you please ask me which format the DVD you're interested in is in.
I don't do "Blanks + Postage",I don't have the time.
Trading Ratio:1CD-R = 1 CD-R,1 DVD-R =1 DVD-R,1 DVD-R = 2 CD-R
I have a handful of shows that are marked "NOT FOR TRADE",this is at the request of the filmer/taper.I have to respect the wishes of the trader I received them from so please don't ask me to trade these.
NONE OF THE DISCS ARE FOR SALE.Please don't ask!!
Quality Ratings are my subjective opinion:
A+ = The Very Best,A= Excellent,B= Very Good,C= Good,X= Poor
For the best viewing experience, Google Chrome or Firefox are the recommended browsers for this website.
